2026/01 Societe Generale – AI Workshop

Feb 27. Our Foundation organised a visit for a group of students from St. Stephen’s Girls’ College to Société Générale (SG) Group, a leading international French bank with over 150 years of history, as part of the AI Teen Ambassador Program partnership.

The workshop began with an engaging ice-breaking quiz to introduce students to fundamental concepts in artificial intelligence. This was followed by an overview of Société Générale’s global businesses and the diversity of talent within the organisation.

SG professionals then shared practical insights into how artificial intelligence is applied across the bank’s operations, including customer protection, customer service, operational efficiency, risk and compliance management, as well as market pricing and forecasting.

An SG expert also delivered a presentation on the evolving deepfake scam landscape, highlighting the risks of social engineering attacks. Students were introduced to three essential steps to guard against such scams:

  1. Stop and Think
  2. Consult Others
  3. Verify Identity

Students were subsequently divided into four groups to participate in interactive discussions on two key topics: the critical safety features required for an AI-powered bank to earn customer trust, and the human skills that will remain essential in the future of AI-enabled banking and their potential applications. Each group presented its ideas, enabling students to exchange perspectives and learn from one another.

The Foundation expresses its sincere appreciation to Mukta and her dedicated team at Société Générale for their support in making this meaningful and educational AI workshop possible for the students of St. Stephen’s Girls’ College.
