2023/11 Charity Parent-Child Yoga

Nov 18. As the 2nd part of GivingTuesday 2023 celebration, Foundation co-organized with St. Nicholas’ English Kindergarten for a charity parent-child yoga event, theme Mental Decarbonization – Love Yourself Love Family. It aimed to help parents and children relax during their autumn outdoor visit to Kam Tin Country Club. Over 300 kindergarten students and parents participated in a fun and loving family event under the following 3 themes.

1)SAVE MARINE ANIMALS

Following the welcome speech by Principal Choi, founder Vincent went on to introduce the foundation and told an adventure story about two young siblings Ethan and Emma saving marine animals. 4 certified yoga instructors Connie, Bonnie, Joanna, and Donald posed in forms of various marine animals like dolphin, seal, shark, jellyfish, aligning the kindergarten’s UNSDG Goal 14 Life below water.

2)CLOSE TO NATURE

Under yoga teacher’s guidance, parents and children learnt to meditate and bring them CLOSE TO NATURE by appreciating the beautiful surroundings using the 5 senses. Children formed a large circle and performed parent-child exercise.

3)LOVE YOURSELF LOVE FAMILY

Finally, trainers taught young children to learn the Self-Love pose by wrapping their arms around themselves, followed by parent and children expressing their love to each other by saying ‘I love you’ and forming the theme parent-child heart-shaped handprint together.

It was a lovely outdoor activity for all. Parents and children had fun together doing yoga poses, learning body languages, and experiencing tender loving family relationship and enjoyed a ‘Mental Decarbonization’ morning.
