Sep 9. The Foundation co-organized with Schneider Electric, Time100 Most Influential Companies in the World in Sustainability on a workshop on sustainability for a group of F5 students from Lions College at the Innovation Hub. After a guided tour of the hub, students learnt from Giuliana Auinger, Head of Sustainability Business, APAC, about sustainability technology and from Henry Wang, an International Author from the B20/G20 Task Force & Council, on climate change.
After gaining knowledge about sustainable clothing and cutlery, students together with 2-3 corporate mentors embarked on a challenge to find solutions for everyday life issues such as plastic bottles, wooden chopsticks, scraped car tires and old clothes. Hong Kong President of Schneider Electric, Jonathan Chiu, Foundation Hon. Advisor, Dr Joyce and Henry served as panel judge and presented a souvenir to the winning team, which achieved the highest score based on innovation, creativity, and presentation skills.
This workshop not only provided students with the opportunity to learn about sustainability from various perspectives but also encouraged teamwork and English presentation skills. The students concluded the workshop by making personal pledges to contribute towards creating a sustainable world.
